New Fountaine Pajot Power Catamaran 67
The shipyard Fountaine Pajot announces the upcoming release of its CATA Moteur 67, it will be a derivative of the model Alegria 67 sailing catamaran.
The race is evident between the manufacturers of Catamaran engines to produce units larger and larger, spacious to please the boaters expectations. In recent years, there has been a decline in interest in conventional sailboat for new catamarans.
Last year in the United States, the sale of sailboats (monohull) to decline by more than 30% against, that of catamarans is growing strongly.
To seduce also boaters in love with comfort, space, without having to know and understand the sail, the builders quickly turned to the CATA power.
There is Sunreef that sits at the top with its Catamarans of very high quality, very luxurious, powerful, all class A, unique in their designs, their looks, with a range that goes beyond 100 feet. He currently dominates the market.
Lagoon has for some time made a quality oriented turn on larger units, also with an A ranking with great success.
Here Fountaine Pajot rather geared towards units with a very affordable selling price seems to be re-oriented on units with a new design. Cata MY 37, MY 40, and MY 44 seem to be popular, but now they’re going to make a big jump into a 67-foot unit.
Of course, this is a conversion of the sailing model Alegria, but with this unit Fountaine Pajot enters this market quickly and will probably please many boaters.
Hard to say at this stage the ranking of this future CATA will always be a B, but it seems the direction that Fountaine Pajot takes to have a very competitive price.
Lagoon has made in recent years a shift oriented on luxury, the quality of materials and this seems to have succeeded, sales are excellent. See the models My 630 and Seventy 8.
Fountain Pajot seems to have taken another trend and specializes in accessible Cata of smaller size. But who knows, this can eventually change.
The important thing is that supply increases significantly. The Cata Power are taking the Cruisers market by offering much more space, luxury, comfort, in short the pleasure of being on board a comfortable and very stable boat.
The market is undergoing a transformation, but it is certain that Power Catamarans are growing rapidly.
