Azimut Seadeck 7
At the Cannes 2024 boat show last September, I climbed aboard the SeaDeck 7. Along with the Seadeck 6, these were the two stars of the Azimut stand, along with the new Azimut 62 Fly.
But let’s just say that the two SEADECKs easily took the spotlight. If the SEADECK 6 had a fly, I think it would have eclipsed the Seadeck 7.
But the Seadeck 7’s flybridge easily took pole position. The galley certainly surprised me with its position and dimensions (very, very small), but the rest of the work was very interesting.
Note the replacement of teak by cork.
The two new SEADECK models are definitely innovative in every respect. The emphasis on proximity to water is omnipresent. Azimut calls this new concept FUN ISLAND.
As usual, Azimut is ahead of its competitors with two models that are very different from anything else in the top-of-the-range cruiser range between 60 and 70 ft.
Azimut, in collaboration with VOLVO, introduces a new hybrid powertrain concept that is impressing the industry. CO2 emissions are said to be reduced by over 40%. There are also new hulls that are wider at the rear and narrower at the front, making planing much quicker and easier.
There’s also the HÔTEL MODE concept introduced by Azimut, which considerably reduces the need to use the generator for air conditioning at night, for example.
In short, they’re a must-see. Let’s hope they’ll be at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2025, and certainly at the next Boat Show in Cannes in September 2025.
