Buy a boat in the United States?  Why not!

We often hear the following: Never buy a boat that has been in salt water.

Where does this come from?  We would be tempted to say that almost all Canadian boat dealers have every advantage to discourage their clients from looking on the American side, especially on the east coast (Boston to Miami).  Discrediting boats from the American territory needs to stay in the past.  Only rule of thumb is that should you be buying a boat that has been totally neglected, buy the neglected boat that is in fresh water.  That is a given!

By opening up your search for your next boat into the American market, will give you a larger selection of vessels, greater choice of options and a chance of lower prices due to the quantity of boats for sale.  Not to be overlooked is the Great Lakes area, particularly Lake Michigan, where there is an abundance of fresh water boats.  Every boat transaction is unique and many factors should be considered and analyzed such as history, degree of maintenance, utilization, characteristics, etc.

In the past couple of years there have been great deals to be found on the American market even when taking into account, the exchange rate.   Whether it is a Searay, Meridian, Marquis, Carver, Prestige Yachts, Cruisers Yachts, Beneteau, Jenneau, Fountaine Pajot, Lagoon, Azimut, Sunseeker, Princess, well you get the picture, there is a transaction waiting with your name on it.

It is important to compare and analyze each possibility keeping in mind the ultimate goal of achieving the best transaction.  In the United States, nine out of ten buyers are accompanied by a broker. Using an experienced broker gives you access to privileged information required for negotiations, qualified contacts for surveys and repairs and complete paperwork to complete a carefree purchase.

At Ita Yachts Canada, our brokers specialize in completing worry free transactions in Canada, United States and Europe.  We will accompany you through all the steps from finding the right vessel for you, negotiating the best deal, taking possession and then we will still be there should there be any additional issues after delivery.

Our brokerage service is free when you are in the buying mode.  The Seller pays the commission which is then split 50-50.  Please note that if you decide to represent yourself, there will be no savings as the Seller’s broker will retain the total commission.   No reason NOT to be taken care of by the experts at Ita Yachts Canada.
