Sunseeker sold ?

UK SUNSEEKER Group sold ?

Bloomberg, one of New York’s leading business news broadcasters, broke the news this morning (April 11).

Sunseeker, a major yacht manufacturer based in England, still ranked among the world’s leading luxury yacht manufacturers (almost always in the top 5), is to be sold to a New York-based financial group called LIONHEART CAPITAL.

The Sunseeker range is detailed as follows (from 38 ft to over 164 ft):

– Superyacht

– Ocean Yachts

– Yachts and Sport Yachts

– Predator

– Manhattan

– Performance

One of Sunseeker’s current owners is a Chinese group called Dalian Wanda Group, which acquired over 92% of the shares in 2013 based on the luxury appetite of China’s new millionaires. But this group has recently been experiencing certain difficulties linked to the mortgage market in China, which is currently unstable.

It’s worth remembering another equally important transaction when the Ferretti Group (based in Italy) was acquired by a Chinese conglomerate called Weichai Group in 2012.

Today, this group is doing just fine.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the market with this new owner. Sunseeker is a very popular manufacturer, all over the world, but especially in Europe.

Remember, James Bond always rides a Sunseeker.
