Here’s the new center console for the PRINCESS C-Class, the C48.
At the CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL in September 2025, the UK shipyard Princess announced the launch of the new Princess C48, available in Open and Deck Saloon versions (with patio doors and side windows). It is expected to make its grand debut at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, the one that begins on October 29th. This will be the OPEN version with outboard.
It will carry a serial number of 2027, so it will likely be available later this spring (2026).
Princess has unveiled its brand-new C-Class model. And it’s just as exciting as hoped. Not only is this the first center console model designed by the usually conservative British shipyard, but it’s also the first to feature a stepped hull, an outboard or sterndrive, and two types of folding decks.
In outboard mode with its three VERADO 600s, the top speed will exceed 50 kN or 61 mph. That’s very fast for a 48-footer.
In inboard mode, it will be powered by two Volvo D6-480s, with a top speed of 40 mph.
Named C48, it will be available in Open and Deck Saloon (patio door) versions and will be Princess’s new entry-level model when production of the V40 ends next year.
With its modern center console design, deep decks, hardtop, and open bow, it fits into the trend for fast and elegant weekend boats popularized by brands such as Fjord, Pardo, Boston Whaler, Tiara, Scout, Valhalla, Intrepid, Everglades, Cruisers Yachts, and many others.
Competition and supply are expected to be plentiful in this category of powerful center console boats measuring 40 feet and over with a full cabin and a modern look.
It’s worth mentioning that the manufacturer AZIMUT quickly entered this niche with its VERVE series. Today, Azimut Yachts manufactures the Verve 42 and 48.

So, in this Princess C48, in its Open version, the entire cockpit is open at the rear and sides, but protected by a wraparound windshield that transforms into a long, full-width hardtop.
The Deck Saloon version uses the same basic architecture, but with glass sides and sliding doors at the rear to create a closed saloon at the front and a smaller open cockpit at the rear. A glass sunroof and electrically operated helm doors on both sides, available as options, allow occupants to fully enjoy the fresh air and easily access the side decks.
At the moment, interior photos are not available. But depending on the configuration, there will be a bedroom with a double bed, a head with a separate shower, and a mini-galley with a bench seat that could certainly be converted into an additional bed.
So, here’s a significant new addition for those looking for a fairly large center console with plenty of comfort and performance.
Of course, the list of equipment is likely to be extensive, such as gyroscopic stabilization, a night vision camera, a Starlink antenna, a generator in a soundproof enclosure, perhaps a lithium battery bank, solar panelsāin short, many really interesting add-ons.
