Beneteau introduces the new Prestige Yachts F5.7

Beneteau introduces the new Prestige Yachts F5.7 (F = Flybridge)

Groupe Beneteau, owner of the Prestige brand, had little choice but to introduce two new models, the F5.7 and the F4.9. Groupe Beneteau owns the Beneteau, Jeanneau, Prestige, Lagoon, Wellcraft, Four Winns, Scarab and Delphia brands.

Given the success of the Prestige 500, 520 and 630 models, powered by Volvo IPS engines, Prestige had to produce new hulls, as sales of these models by dealers were rather difficult, given the abundance on the second-hand market.

So, after years of cosmetic modifications, it was time for a facelift.

Here’s the new F5.7, which can replace the old 520 and 550 models, and even the 560 and 590. There’s also the new F4.9, but this article focuses on the F5.7.

The configuration of the bedrooms is quite new, as is the cockpit area, which now has a dinette more oriented towards the water view, and the concept of the galley completely open onto the cockpit is a real plus (ocean view galley), which is my favorite section of this new yacht.

The forward lounge may be a little basic, but it has to be seen as a whole. Revamping the cockpit area is currently the hot trend among many manufacturers. The approach is identical to what Absolute (new models), Azimut (Magellano 60) and other European manufacturers are doing, but perhaps a little less user-friendly (galley/cockpit).

But I’m surprised by the location of the owners’ bedroom in the forward part of the yacht, considering the hull noise created by the waves. But the VIP can also be used by the owners, but it’s smaller, with an equally smaller bathroom.

This configuration is astonishing, especially when compared with the latest models from Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Azimut Yachts, Sunseeker Yachts and Princess Yachts, which feature the owners’ bedroom in the widest part of the yacht, i.e. in the central, acoustically quieter area (against wave noise on the hull).

The motorization is much better with two Volvo IPS 800 (2 x 600 hp) than before with the older models. But the top speed is 27 kn. Usually the standard in this class is 30 kn and sometimes more. Also for a 56-foot yacht, the empty weight is, let’s say, a little light (33,190 lbs), still compared with the competition.

So (with dry weight):

Prestige Yachts F5.7 : 33,190 lbs, engines: 2 x IPS 800 (2 x 600 hp)

In this category:

Azimut Yachts 53 Fly: 54000 lbs, engines: 2 x Volvo IPS 950 (2 x 725 hp)
Sunseeker Manhattan 55: 55514 lbs, engines: Volvo D13-800 or IPS-950 (2 x 725 hp)
Princess Yachts F55: 54120 lbs, engines: Volvo D13-900
Ferretti Yachts 580: 68343 lbs, engines: Volvo D13-1000
Absolute 56 Flybridge: 52350 lbs, engines: Volvo D8-IPS 800 (2 x 600 hp) or D11-IPS 950

The exterior “look” is very interesting, with a well-thought-out side hull line. It’s far superior to previous models, with large windows that integrate very well and create a very fluid, harmonious profile.

In short, it needs to be tested.

Here’s what the manufacturer has to say:

Enjoy generous entertaining. Enjoy moments of intimacy.

Designed to meet the needs and expectations of luxury yachting connoisseurs, the new F5.7 elevates the experience of life on board. Living spaces are arranged to encourage moments of sharing and connection, while preserving privacy. The gentle curves of its design and refined finishes reflect a connection to the sea and nature, creating a soft, soothing atmosphere.

True to the new generation of the F-Line, the F5.7 adopts state-of-the-art technology, offering owners a cruising experience with unrivalled ease of maneuverability.
