Presenting the new Azimut Yacht S7 – 2018 (comparison with the Pershing 70 and Princess S72)
UPDATE – 27 Jan 2018
Azimut S7 : Winner “EUROPEAN POWER BOAT OF THE YEAR 2018” , at the Dusseldorf Boat Show for yacht over 45 feet.
Azimut has found its niche among the category of sports yachts. With the new Azimut S7 the company has been able to combine comfort, luxury, open air living and a mini flybridge for those who enjoy the joy of driving with the wind in their hair.
This yacht was beautifully designed while maintaining a sport design but conservative when choosing the engine power. They have chosen engines that are well known and tested. There are three Volvo IPS 1050 onboard 3 x 800 hp = 2400 hp total for a yacht weighing in at 95,700 lbs.
The performance is under the bar of 35kn, but the advantages such as less vibration noise, excellent maneuverability, reduced fuel consumption and no diesel fumes due to the IPS propulsion is a huge plus.
The Pershing 70 has two engines with a total of 3246 hp and will attain 46kn (weight of 84,000 lbs) with surface drive propulsion. Important note: The surface drives are very fuel efficient at top speed. With the Pershing, you have pure performance but no mini fly on the 70.
It is very difficult to do a comparison between these two yachts performance wise due to the completely different propulsion systems. Both boast beautiful Italian interiors, the Azimut S7 layout offers 4 staterooms as the Pershing 70 offers 3 staterooms.
The Princess S72 is a yacht that falls in the middle of the above two mentioned. This superb sport bridge, as the Azimut 7S, also has the mini fly. An exceptional sport luxury yacht with two CAT C-32 or MAN 1800 (3600 hp) total and will attain a top speed of 39-40 kn with shaft propulsion (weighing 94,798 lbs). An interior that will please even the most demanding boater and won the Motor Boat Award in 2015. The Princess S72 balances performance and comfort perfectly.
Most importantly, all three models are classified A Class, a reference in the industry.
How to decide which brand is right for you? Start by visiting each boat. Take note of available general storage areas, quality of materials, innovation, garage space, exterior paint, integrated automation and of course, price including options. Ideally, we suggest opting for a sea trial on a day when there are waves in order to compare how each yacht handles depending on their hull design.
