The market for MegaYachts and Superyachts in 2024

Sales are excellent for manufacturers in the MegaYachts and SuperYachts category.

Two major groups are listed on the stock exchange, and therefore obliged to publish financial results.

These are Groupe Sanlorenzo (Italy) and Groupe Ferretti (Italy). Unfortunately, the Azimut-Benetti Group (Italy) is a private company, and therefore not listed on the stock exchange. Its owner is Mr. Paolo Vitelli.

Let’s start with the Ferretti Group, manufacturer of the following brands:

– Ferretti Yachts(up to 100 ft)
– Pershing Yachts(up to 140 ft)
– Riva Yachts (up to 130 ft)
– Wally (up to 150 ft)
– Custom Line (up to 164 ft)
– CRN (up to 300 ft)
– Itama (up to 75 ft)

The company is largely owned by the Chinese Weichai Holding Group Co Ltd.

The Group shows growing results in the first quarter of 2024 compared with 2023.

– Sanlorenzo yachts (up to 240 ft.)
– BlueGame (up to 75 ft.)

According to the annual rankings compiled by the publication YACHTS, Sanlorenzo and the Ferretti are still in the top three. Far ahead of the 4th and 5th in this prestigious ranking.

But according to the data collected, it’s always the Azimut-Benetti Group that tops the rankings, and has done so for over 21 consecutive years.

Let’s just say that the Benetti Division plays a major role in keeping the Azimut-Benetti Group at the top of the rankings.

Let’s hope that, in 2024, all three of these big names will be in the ranking.

So, to conclude, the market for yachts over $10 million USD and up to $300 million USD is doing just fine. This category of yachtsmen does not seem to be affected by the global economic situation.

Last year, the average yacht present at the Monaco Yacht Show had an average value of over $60 million USD, and was a sales success according to the experts.

This is a far cry from the rather disappointing statistics for yachts 80 ft and under.

Let’s hope the situation stabilizes for the rest of 2024.
