New Azimut Yachts 62 Flybridge

New Azimut Yachts 62 Flybridge

New model 2025

Azimut presents its new 62-foot flybridge powered by two Volvo IPS 1200.

Inspired by current trends, it offers full access to the water in the aft section.

In fact, the cockpit areas have been completely redesigned for direct access to the sea, both visually and without the obstacles of the old transoms.

The interior has also been brought up to date, with a more timeless yet luxurious and refined decor, as only Italians know how to do.

It will be present at the next Boat Show in Cannes this autumn (2024).

Will it be certified Class A or B (CE) ?

The old Azimut 66 Fly, like the 62 Fly, was A-rated.

It has to be said that under the 70-foot mark, few manufacturers persist with the A classification. I think it’s only FERRETTI that continues with A ratings.

Also, why not offer the propulsion mode with shafts too, as other manufacturers like Sunseeker and Princess do on certain models.

The advantages of Volvo IPS propulsion include a smaller engine room and no more diesel fumes, since the exhausts are in the PODS. Of course, there’s also a certain reduction in fuel consumption, and there’s the joystick. But depending on the weight of the new model, the top speed should be lower, since there’s a reduction in total HP compared with a propulsion system with shafts.

But anyone who’s had damage with PODS swears they’ll only have a yacht with shafts now. Let’s just say it’s a subject for discussion.

Volvo is also working on reducing maintenance costs for PODS IPS.

Let’s talk about it after the CANNES BOAT SHOW 2024 edition.
